  • Make sure your Name, Address, Phone (NAP) is identical everywhere
  • Clean up duplicates and outdated listings
  • Get listed on key directories: Yelp, BBB, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Nextdoor, Angi, and niche-specific ones

On-Page SEO With Local Flavor

  • Add city/region keywords to your title tags and H1s
  • Sprinkle local terms into page copy naturally
  • Create location landing pages (if you serve multiple cities)
  • Add schema markup (local business schema FTW)
  • Embed Google Maps on your Contact page

Reviews = Local Trust Currency

  • Ask your best customers for Google reviews
  • Include review links in emails, texts, and follow-ups
  • Showcase reviews on your website
  • Respond to reviews quickly (yes, even the petty ones)

Local Content Is King

  • Write blog posts about your local community/events
  • Highlight local partnerships, vendors, or customer stories
  • Create “best of [your town]” guides if relevant
  • Post local photos regularly to your GBP and social media

Local Backlinks = SEO Rocket Fuel

  • Get featured in local news or sponsor community event
  • Partner with other local businesses for blog swaps or shoutouts
  • List your business on your Chamber of Commerce or local org sites
