Overview
AI Citation Tracker is a free Chrome extension created by Foxtown Marketing. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is used.
What we collect
We do not collect any data. The extension stores the following information locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in sync storage:
- Your brand or company name
- Up to three competitor names you choose to enter
- Session statistics (citation counts from your current browsing session)
That’s it. No names, emails, or usage data are sent to Foxtown Marketing or any third party.
How your data is used
The names you enter are used solely to highlight matching text on the AI platforms you visit (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, and Bing). This processing happens entirely within your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
Chrome Sync Storage
If you have Chrome Sync enabled, Google may sync your extension settings across your own devices as part of Chrome’s standard sync functionality. This is controlled entirely by your Google account settings and is not something Foxtown Marketing has access to.
Third-party services
The extension does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
